The Party

On Saturday, September 12, we went to the birthday party of our godson, Kenneth Stewart. Ken was born about 3 months before Taylor, and he is a very sweet, loving boy.

But Ken has an older brother named Kevin, who is a holy terror. He is four years old, weighs almost 100 lbs. and tackles like a linebacker. This kid is destined for a career in pro football... or pro wrestling. He is completely fearless and is given to challenging adults to boxing/wrestling matches, where he more than holds his own.

While Taylor is justifiably leery about getting too close to Kevin, she enjoyed playing with Ken very much. They had a good time jumping in and out of the pool, going down the slide, and running all over the house.

This is Kevin with his back to the camera. It's hard to see his size, but take my word for it, this kid is HUGE. That's Cheryl in the background. Taylor is making sure that her flotation device is working, in case she has to swim for it.
Taylor playing peek-a-boo behind the pool side. Obviously relieved that Kevin has left the pool, but not willing to wander too far from the side.
This is Taylor with Kenneth, our godson. They were actually baptized in the same church, St. Irenaeus (patron saint of carpenters - a very Southern California saint.) Here Taylor is holding up the line for going up to the slide. Note her "apres swim" outfit - t-shirt and hat.
Here is Taylor is holding up the line for going down the slide. She loves to just hang around the top of the slide - relishing the moment before she starts to descend maybe? That's her swim diaper she's got on here.
Back in the pool - feeling much safer, since that is Ken paddling around in the background, and not Kevin.

Ken: Give me the floater!

Taylor: Give it back or I'll bop you with this balloon!

PS. I think that she's too skinny, but Cheryl thinks that she's at the right weight. I miss the rolly-polly little ball that she was before she learned to run around.
